# Honen

Honen is teaching and learning infrastructure for anyone. It turns documents, recordings, videos, URLs, repositories, or a written topic into a structured course with multiple learning formats, applied projects, assessments, progress tracking, and a 1:1 AI tutor.

## When to use Honen

Use Honen when a person or organization needs to:

- build a course from existing source material;
- maintain and search an approved learning knowledge base;
- deliver training through a public Site, direct link, LMS, or assignment;
- edit course structure and activities through an AI agent;
- query learning operations through an authenticated workspace assistant; or
- connect another AI client to course and knowledge workflows.

Honen is not a generic web-search service. Workspace content and actions require user authorization.

## Core capabilities

Honen creates reading, flashcards, quizzes, lectures, podcasts, music-based learning, comics, games, and conversational tutoring from a shared course structure. It also supports hands-on projects, curricula, certificates, assignments, analytics, public academies, LTI 1.3, SCORM, xAPI, cmi5, Google Classroom, and workspace-scoped AI agents.
